About me

Paige Saunders is a mixed Otipemisiwak (Cree-Métis) artist from Oakville, ON. Her family comes from Red River, Manitoba; Batoche, Duck Lake and Marcelin, Saskatchewan. She is registered with the Manitoba Métis Federation.

The name ‘binesikwe’ came from her mishoomis, Miptoon Chegahno, translating into “Bird Woman” in Anishinaabemowin.

Paige learned to bead and sew in University, and has found a love for creating. Her projects reflect her passion, dedication and love for creating Indigenous wearable art.
